Rep. Schiff Applauds Release of West Hollywood Filmmaker Tim Tracy from Venezuelan Prison

West Hollywood, CA –Today, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the chair of the Freedom of the Press Caucus, issued the following statement after one of his West Hollywood constituents was released from custody by Venezuelan government:

“I was very pleased to learn that the Venezuelan government has released Tim Tracy, a documentary filmmaker, after detaining him on trumped up charges.  Mr. Tracy is thankfully on his way back to the United States this morning. His arrest and detention should serve as a powerful reminder of the need to guard our press freedoms vigorously at home and abroad."
