Rep. Schiff Opening Statement - Judge Thomas Porteous Impeachment Trial - Part 1

The special U.S. Senate committee's impeachment trial of Judge G. Thomas Porteous, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, started yesterday. This is an extremely rare Judicial impeachment trial (Judge Porteous's is only the sixteenth in the 221-year history of the Senate). As Chair of the Impeachment Task Force, I kicked off the trial with an opening statement with fellow House members to the Senate Impeachment Trial Committee for Judge Porteous's removal. This is the first part of the opening statement.
