Schiff Statement on Tentative DGA Agreement with Studios
Burbank, CA – Today, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) released the following statement on the tentative agreement between DGA and Hollywood studios:
“I am thrilled to hear that studios and the Directors Guild of America have reached a tentative agreement to ensure that directors and their staff are paid fair wages and residuals, and will also begin to be protected as technology changes how Hollywood produces the shows and movies we love. The agreement also makes important advancements for worker safety and hours. Now, it’s up to DGA members to vote and decide if this agreement works for them to avoid a strike.
I’ll continue to support all workers in the entertainment industry who are calling for better wages, benefits, and protections including WGA members who have been striking for over a month, and those who may join the picket lines in coming weeks.”
