Rep. Schiff Responds to Antisemitic Comments by Palestinian Authority President
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), released the following statement in response to comments by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas:
“Palestinian Authority President Abbas’s recent antisemitic comments that so blatantly and egregiously distorted the truth of the Holocaust are shocking and unacceptable.
Claiming that Jewish people are not the victims of antisemitism, and denying the racist underpinnings of the Holocaust while repeating common antisemitic tropes, is a gross misrepresentation. It is also dangerous at a time when the proliferation of antisemitism around the world has caused an increase in violence against the Jewish community.
I strongly condemn President Abbas’s statements and urge my colleagues to do the same.”
