ICYMI: Rep. Adam Schiff Visits San Diego, Tours U.S Mexico Border and Discusses Border and Environmental Issues With Local Leaders
Burbank, CA — Yesterday, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) toured the U.S.-Mexico border, ending his visit with a roundtable discussion in San Diego. This discussion focused on border issues in the San Diego area, including the immigration and environmental concerns at the southern border, and how he is advocating for climate action and immigration reform in Congress.
Joining Congressman Schiff were key community figures, including Mayor of Imperial Beach, Paloma Aguirre; the Executive Director of San Diego Coastkeeper, Phillip Musegaas; and the Executive Director of Alliance San Diego, Andrea Guerrero. The discussion focused on the challenges faced by border communities, ranging from the erected border walls around Friendship Park and the health implications of the Tijuana Sewage Pollutionthe pressing concerns surrounding migrant rights.
