Congressman Schiff on Killing of Shireen Abu Akleh
"Every day journalists take extraordinary risks to bring us the news, especially those with the courage to report from regions of conflict. Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian-American journalist with Al Jazeera, was a talented, valued member of the press, and her death is terrible tragedy. The Israeli military must conduct a thorough and objective investigation into Abu Akleh's death, and be transparent about its findings.
"My prayers are with her family, with her colleague, Ali Al-Samudi, who was also wounded, and with members of the press everywhere who risk their lives to bring us the truth.”
