The rules of the House of Representatives permit interns and fellows to serve temporarily in the office of a Member of Congress when that service is primarily of educational benefit. Congressman Schiff has made internships available in his office in Washington, D.C., and in his district office in Burbank in order to provide that experience for students and others who wish to learn more about the workings of a Congressional office and about our country's democratic political process.

To apply for an internship with Congressman Schiff’s office, fill out the internship application form below and send a resume and writing sample to the respective office where you wish to intern. Internships in both Burbank and Washington are unpaid and last approximately three months. Please note that summer internships are by far the most popular and we always receive more applications than we can accommodate.

Washington internships are usually full-time. Fall applicants for internships in DC are encouraged to apply for fall internships by August 15th and summer internships by March 31st.

Burbank internships are generally part-time. District office interns are accepted on a rolling basis during the school year but summer applications should be submitted by March 31st.

If you have any questions regarding internships with Congressman Schiff's office, please feel free to call our Burbank office at (818) 450-2900/(323) 315-5555 or our D.C. office at (202) 225-4176.
