Schiff Hosts Federal Fair on Saturday

Social Security Representatives Help Seniors with New Prescription Plan

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Schiff invites all constituents to his annual federal fair on Saturday June 11.  Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and obtain valuable information on federal programs, benefits and career opportunities available with several federal agencies.  Offices represented include:  The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Internal Revenue Service, The Department of Veterans Affairs, Peace Corps, Department of State, Small Business Administration, The Social Security Administration, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  This event is free and open to the public.

Representatives from the Social Security Administration will be on hand to enroll residents in a new program that provides prescription drug coverage under Medicare.  If your annual income is below $14,355 for an individual ($19,245 for a married couple living together) you may not have to pay monthly premiums or a deductible and you could pay as little as $2 for your co-payments.  If your annual income is higher, you may be able to get some help with your monthly premiums, annual deductibles and co-payments.
