House Set to Pass Bill that Includes $500,000 for Childrens Hospital L.A.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) is pleased to announce his $500,000 request for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is set to pass the House as part of the Fiscal Year 2006 Energy & Water Appropriations Bill today. The money will fund a pediatric cancer research project.
“I am proud to assist Childrens Hospital Los Angeles with their pediatric cancer research,” said Schiff. “I hope this important research can offer families a ray of hope while they confront the heartbreak of a child with cancer.”
The funding will be finalized once the bill is approved by the Senate and signed by the President.
Congressman Schiff has introduced a "Kids First" agenda of initiatives to improve education, safety, and health care for our children. He is the co-founder of the Democratic Study Group on National Security and a member of both the House Judiciary and International Relations committees. He represents California’s 29th Congressional District, which includes the communities of Alhambra, Altadena, Burbank, East Pasadena, East San Gabriel, Glendale, Monterey Park, Pasadena, San Gabriel, South Pasadena and Temple City. -30-
