House Set to Pass Bill that Includes $1 Million for Hybrid Truck Development
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) is pleased to announce his $1 million request for hybrid truck development is set to pass the House as part of the Fiscal Year 2006 Energy & Water Appropriations Bill today. The project, which will be implemented by CALSTART, will focus on the development of heavy-duty hybrid trucks that will benefit both the military and commercial sectors.
“Hybrid technology will improve our military capabilities on the battlefield while providing long-term environmental rewards and economic savings,” said Schiff.
The funding will be finalized once the bill is approved by the Senate and signed by the President.
Congressman Schiff is the co-founder of the Democratic Study Group on National Security and a member of both the House Judiciary and International Relations committees. He represents California’s 29th Congressional District, which includes the communities of Alhambra, Altadena, Burbank, East Pasadena, East San Gabriel, Glendale, Monterey Park, Pasadena, San Gabriel, South Pasadena and Temple City. -30-
