WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has launched a new website for the constituents of California’s 29th Congressional District.
“Today the residents of my district have a place they can call their own,” said Schiff. “Visitors to my new website now have easy access to information about the latest news from Washington and how to get personal assistance from my office.”
Some of the new features include:
Legislative Issues – Visitors will find detailed information about Congressman Schiff’s legislative priorities and his work in the United States House of Representatives. This section contains links to both text and streaming video of speeches Congressman Schiff delivers on the House floor. In addition, visitors will find information about Congressman Schiff’s memberships on caucuses, task forces and coalitions; legislation that he has sponsored; and the legislative process.
Constituent Services – This is the place where constituents can order flags that have been flown over the U.S. Capitol, Presidential greetings for special occasions, and information about U.S. Capitol tours and other Washington D.C. tourist attractions. In addition, whether constituents have a problem with the Social Security Administration, the Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Veterans Administration, or want help with the Small Business Administration, the Constituent Services section contains information about how Congressman Schiff's office can help you take advantage of federal government resources.
Students – A unique place in cyberspace for the young people of the 29th District of California, this section contains activities and information for both children and young adults. For younger children, there is a coloring challenge that offers “junior” constituents the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in Congressman Schiff’s office. For those a little older, there is a crossword puzzle, a word search, and a quiz that will challenge their knowledge of California and the United States. Young adults will find resources regarding internships, Schiff’s Congressional Arts Competition, the Service Academy nomination process, and financial aid resources.
Newsroom – Visitors will find an archive of press releases, information about subscribing to Congressman Schiff’s weekly e-newsletter, the Washington Update, a photo gallery filled with pictures from events across the 29th District, the text of columns and speeches written by Congressman Schiff, and a press kit for members of the media.
