Seven Local Students Appointed To Service Academies

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) announced today that seven students from California’s 29th Congressional District have been offered appointments to our nation’s Service Academies.  These students were nominated by Rep. Schiff in January and competed with other applicants from across the nation for the prestigious and limited scholarships to the four academies.

“I am thrilled to have so many students from our community selected for this distinguished achievement,” said Rep. Schiff.  “The Service Academies teach leadership, dedication and a strong commitment to work and success.  I am pleased to know that such bright and accomplished students will be provided with the training to lead our military during what will surely be a challenging time for our nation’s armed services.  I congratulate the students and their families for this wonderful accomplishment, and I look forward to hearing about their continued achievements.”

The following students from California’s 29th District have been offered appointments to the United States Service Academies:

  • Felisa Marie Hervey of Pasadena (La Salle High School) – Air Force Academy
