WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) announced today that the City of Alhambra will receive $75,000 for ‘recreational facility improvements,’ such as renovating Moor Field.
"Moor Field is the City of Alhambra's major recreation center. Home to baseball, softball and soccer fields and a track, Moor Field is the hub of all the City's recreation programs and many outside children's sports organizations," Rep. Schiff said today.
"The Field is in great need of repair and federal funds can now be used to make improvements to the track, soccer fields, parking lot, bleachers, locker rooms, and fencing. Such enhancements will not only improve the usefulness of the space, but the safety of the field as well," Schiff added, as author of the request.
This funding was included in the final House Omnibus Appropriations Bill for FY 04 - which passed the full House of Representatives. The U.S. Senate is slated to take up the Omnibus Appropriations Bill in early January 2004.
Rep. Schiff represents California’s 29th Congressional District, including the communities of Alhambra, Altadena, Burbank, East Pasadena, East San Gabriel, Glendale, Monterey Park, Pasadena, San Gabriel, South Pasadena and Temple City.
