October 29, 2003 -- Congressman Schiff speaks out against the dramatically increasing deficits that have occurred during the last few years. Using the huge construction hole for the new Capitol Visitors Center as a backdrop to highlight the problem, Congressman Schiff and other Congressional Democrats urged the Adminstration to "stop digging the deficit hole deeper." The deficit stood at a record $374 billion for Fiscal Year 2003.
