May 28, 2002 -- With the assistance of Mrs. Chase, Congressman Adam Schiff presents the Bronze Star medal of heroic and meritorious service to Glendale resident William W. Chase, 77, a World War II veteran who, after a fellow soldier died in his arms, vowed to dedicate himself to saving lives, serving after the war with a volunteer ambulance corps and teaching CPR and first aid.
