November 8, 2001 -- Rabbi Carole Meyers receives a certificate for serving as guest chaplain and offering the prayer opening the daily session of the House of Representatives upon the invitation of Congressman Schiff. Over the past 15 years, Rabbi Meyers served at Glendale's Temple Sinai, one of the most thriving synagogues in the area. In June, Rabbi Meyers stepped down from her post to devote more time to her husband, Chief Magistrate Judge Ralph Zarefsky, and their two children.
